Personal:

I'm married to Nan Kennard and she kicks my butt at running.  She has beat me handily in every race we have done together except for a downhill mile we did once.  She is my running inspiration.  I'd like to run a marathon with her someday and actually keep up.

HO-LY CRAP! That was the most fun I have ever had on any mountain bike ride or any type of race ever.  Seriously fun.  I felt fantastic and full of energy all day.  Literally zero tiredness, zero fatigue, zero energy issues.  I felt strong all the way to the finish and it was odd to me to be blowing past all the carnage the last 30 miles of people cracking left and right.  I honestly wished the race were longer at the end and was kind of bummed about having it come to an end.  To the point where I was itching to go for a run after because I felt so good (I didn't end up running after due to lack of time though).  I'll write a detailed report and post a video report of the race later.  But needless to say I was really pleased with and absolutely loved doing that race.  I went into it hoping to just have fun and that my legs would hold up for 10 hours.  The legs held up perfectly and I had way more fun than I could have anticipated.

My full race report and video is on my blog here

Sounds like a blast. Not at all surprising that you did great. Nice job. Now you just have to convince Nan to let you drop $7k on a bike!

Way to go man. Glad you had a great time. Sounds like it was an awesome experience. Now, time to look forward to Quest for King's.

NICE JOB! You are in wicked awesome shape. If you get in any better shape you are going to have to quit your day job.

Great job Aaron. Congrats on your race. I thought this might be a bit of a struggle for you since you just barely decided on doing it, but obviously you are in amazing shape right now.

Amazing! Strong ride for no real miles all year, really shows your all aroound strength. Sounds like it was a great time. Crazy cool that you had so much in the tank all the way through. What/how did you feul?

Thanks guys - it was super fun. I posted a video and a full race report now.

jon - $7K is way too much to spend on a bike! I just got my new replacement 29er which will do the job just fine.

jun - looking forward to Kings this weekend.

Danny - ummm...not even close buddy. But thanks. Looking forward to having you out here in a month for the steamboat 50.

Scott - I thought the same, but was pleasantly surprised.

Bryce - 1st endurance and vespa - but see the report for more details.
